C. Earl Stubbs
Rev. C. Earl Stubbs passed away suddenly on July 15, 2008, in Hyderabad, India, at 65 years of age. Earl Stubbs was born on December 18, 1942, in a farm house near Williamsburg, Pa., to Lloyd and Elsie Stubbs. He grew up in Winchester, Va., and then did a tour of duty in the U.S. Army, serving 18 months in South Korea.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Central Bible College, Springfield, Mo., and his Master of Arts degree from Covenant Theological Semi¬nary, St. Louis, Mo. Earl was ordained in 1973, with the Pennsylvania-Dela¬ware District. Earl Stubbs was married to Arlene Sorbo on July 1, 1967, in Central Assembly of God in Springfield, Mo. They began their pastoral min-istry in America, and then were appointed as Assembly of God missionaries, arriving in India on April 12,1975. They were still ministering in Hyderabad, India, when Earl went to be with the Lord.
They have been involved in ministry all over South India for the past 34 years. The largest part of their ministry has been pi¬oneering and pastoring New Life Assembly of God Church in Hyderabad, India, for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Arlene; daughters and spouses, Valerie and Michael Sharp and Sharilyn and Jeffrey McClaflin; grandchildren, Alexander, Aniali and Rebekah; a brother, Ivan; a sister, Mary; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., July 21, in Central Assembly of God, 1301 N. Boonville Ave. Visitation immediately preceding at 9 a.m., in the church.
